Third Grade - Mrs. Eberhardt

Classroom News

Week 28 March 18 - March 22 - Monday, March 18, 2019

This is our last week for spring break.  The kids are starting to get a little bit of spring break fever!

We will be reading a story called Journey to the Moon this week. This story covers the timeline leading up the landing on the moon.  Students will learn about fact vs opinion and making inferences. We will not have a comprehension test this week. Instead, they will be working on a project of their choice in class. They will be able to choose between making a newspaper article, writing a persuasive essay on if they believe we can one day live on the moon or not, or creating a fact vs opinion chart.

We will not be having a spelling list this week. However, students can retake a test from the past two weeks if they would like to get a higher grade.

Students need to remember to bring back the signed form the week concerning the history fair project. A copy of this will be returned to you so you have the outline to follow at home. This week, students will be setting up their history fair notebook. They will bring this home over spring break for discussion on their final topic choice. Please remember that part of this project must be completed at home!  The link to this project is under classroom documents.

Please remember to send back the blue registration packet.  This is especially important if you have a preschooler or kindergarten that you would like to register as well.  Registration will open to the public on April 1st.  These classes have been full the past several years.

Blessing box items are due this week.  Our class is asked to bring in paper products such as toilet paper and tissues. Students who bring in these items will have a non-uniform day on Friday.  Please also send in the rice bowls on Friday as well!

Favorite Bible Verse: '"I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8

I am privileged to work at St. Nicholas Catholic School. This school shaped me as a child and now I have the opportunity to teach young students that walk through our doors. I have a passion for reading and try to help all children find that joy within themselves. St. Nicholas is a family and I am proud to be a part of that!
