The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. We have been made aware of a few social media threats against schools in our area. We have been in constant communication with local law enforcement who have indicated that none of these are viable threats. They have, however, provided what additional coverage they could this week, and will be more visible throughout the coming days. We would also like to let you know that we will be sharing what information we have available to us as it comes in. If you see an officer at our school please remember to give them a big St. Nicholas Catholic School welcome. We are extremely happy to have such outstanding officers in our community to protect us and make sure our students are safe.

We would like to remind you that we have a number of procedures in place designed to keep our school safe. One of the newer initiatives is that our front door is locked during the school day. The door will be locked from 8:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m. then locked again from 3:15 p.m. until the next morning when the school opens at 7:50 a.m. To access the building, visitors will need to press the doorbell that is located on the right hand side of the front doors on the brick.

Staff in the office will let visitors into the school. This will help us ensure that all visitors sign in at the office. Please understand that staff may not be available to answer the door immediately, but will do so as soon as possible. If you have any questions about safety procedures, as always, please contact the school at 208-436-6320.

Parents, if you see or hear anything out of the ordinary, please report it to one of our staff members.

Thank you for all that you do to help keep St. Nicholas Catholic School safe. We look forward to using our new doorbell.
