Good Tuesday afternoon, St. Nicholas Catholic School (SNCS) Family!
I wanted to reach out to you with some details about this week. This is subject to change as the situation changes; thanks for keeping up with us as we go through this "adventure".
As you are already aware, we will not be having classes at our school building on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week (as per Minidoka County School District guidelines). However, we will continue instruction for our students through educational packets and email for the rest of this week. Today, students will be bringing home textbooks, packets of work, and instructions that your teacher(s) want you to have for the next three days. Please stay tuned into any emails that your teachers are sending out to you and your child. We will have work for all students (PreK through 6th Grade) both online and paper-based depending on the teacher.
This Wednesday and Thursday, the SNCS staff will be at the school writing lesson plans and preparing for on-line instruction in case there is an extended school closure after Spring Break. We are also committed to ensuring that you and your child have a safe and clean environment when you return to school. All staff will be on board at the school with lesson planning and sanitizing the school and lunchroom.
We are currently planning on returning to instruction in our classrooms on Monday, March 30, but depending on the circumstances of the spread or non-spread of the virus, that may end up being a little longer.
Please stay in contact with SNCS! If you or anyone in your family are infected with COVID-19, or even if you have been tested, please let us know so that we can pray for you. We will also then alert (without using names) the parents of classrooms that may have been exposed.
We will all try to communicate with everyone regularly. Please use email when contacting your teacher or any staff. Our staff will respond to your emails as quickly as they can, hopefully within 24 hours. Take care, keep praying, and remember: we are in the loving hands of a merciful and devoted God. He is with us every step of the way.
