As our community moves into a higher risk for Covid, we want to share information about our status and plans. We have been in touch with South Central Health Department and are adhering to all of their suggestions and precautions.
We ask students to wear masks before and after school, on Weds for Mass, and anytime they are in close proximity. We continue to separate grades (Pre, Kinder, 1st, and 2nd as one group, and 3rd, 4th, 5th/6th as another group) for lunch and recesses. Our custodians clean the entire building every night and use approved disinfectants.
We have had some staff members test positive for COVID, but they have immediately quarantined for 14 days. Our student attendance remains strong, and we are in close contact with families to check on reasons for student absences. If a grade level seems to have a large number of families with COVID in the home, we may ask that grade level to remain home for a week to reduce the chances of spreading the virus.
We greatly appreciate our parents being cautious about their family’s health and working with us to keep everyone safe and healthy at school. We plan to continue with in-school learning. If you have any questions and concerns, please do not hesitate to call us. We want to be transparent and work with all families during this challenging times.
We also would like to let you know that even though Minidoka County School District will be releasing school early on Fridays, St. Nicholas Catholic School will stay in session all day and release at our normal time at 3:00p.m. There will be no afternoon busses on Fridays.
