John Evans was an active member of our church community and was a very generous benefactor for almost three decades. He and his family moved to Burley in 1995 from Portland, Oregon to work at his father’s business Evans Grain. He enrolled all of his children in St. Nicholas Catholic School. Catholic education was very important to him as he attended Catholic Schools from Kindergarten to Gonzaga himself. He was always very generous in the community, whether it be enthusiastically giving to St. Nicholas, quietly providing new football helmets for Burley High School, numerous charities he supported, or anyone who he knew who needed it. His philosophy was passed down from his father, “the more you give, the more you get,” and he lived by that motto. His kind, fun spirit is greatly missed. We are excited to honor him by having a golf tournament in his name for one of his favorite causes.
