Catholic Identity

Our Catholic Identity
We desire to provide a learning environment where students may encounter the beauty of God in academics, prayer, and play. In believing that God is the source of all joy we wish to illuminate all the school's activities with that light. Being that faith and reason can lead us to the truths of God, our desire is to foster an environment where students may encounter Christ through both.

"As a student at St. Nicholas Catholic School, I will show my love for God as I build my faith, increase my learning and give meaningful service. I will follow Jesus' example of love, work, and respect for God, myself and my community"

  • Morning Meeting

We begin each day by gathering together as a school community. Each class takes a turn leading the morning prayer, pledge of allegiance, and student learning expectations. We focus each week on a

virtue that we incorporate into our daily lives.

Our morning meeting is also a time to share announcements, highlight students and celebrate birthdays.

  • In the Classroom

“Be it known, that Christ is the reason for this school.” This quote, which is said by students daily, embodies the mission and philosophy of the school. Whether in the classroom, at lunch, or on the playground, we place our faith, learning and service in action.

  • Weekly Mass

Every Thursday, students celebrate Mass together, actively participating by serving, singing in the choir and being lectors. By celebrating as a community, we share our love for God and each other. This beautiful tradition helps all students understand the beauty and power of prayer.

  • Special Events

Throughout each school year we celebrate everything we can when it comes to our faith!

    Blessing of Our School

    Special Rosary Mass

    All Saints Day

    A Nativity Presentation

    Catholic Schools Week

    As well as many others!

  • Service

Service, one of our learning expectations, is practiced by students, staff and families. Some examples of

service include providing resources for the food room, serving meals to the elderly, sending care packages to troops, reading out to Senior Citizens through cards and performances, and completing individual student Works of Mercy. By sharing our talents, we share our faith.
